June marked the 800th anniversary of the signing of one of the most important documents in history. The Magna Carta has been called "the greatest constitutional document of all time - the foundation of the freedom of the individual against the arbitrary authority of the despot". Thanks to Dean Worcester, an engaging storyteller, judge, and Rotarian extraordinaire, for his presentation about this document at the July 9, 2015, Rotary meeting. For background information, check out a Wall Street Journal article The Magna Carta—Eight Centuries of Liberty, written by Daniel Hannan and published on-line May 29, 2015.

Past president Ron Rogos, shown at the head table, led the club as we celebrated 800 years of democracy and kicked off the new Rotary year with this program. Ron filled in for President Dee Jonas. President Dee is looking forward to a wonderful year with everyone engaged in our important work.
