Road Rally set for June 26
Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines. You are invited to lunch at the Hunter’s Head Tavern in Upperville. We meet at Safeway on S. King Street in Leesburg at 1:30 PM. The rally starts at 1:45. The course winds through the beautiful Virginia countryside all the way to Upperville. Forget your GPS and just follow the car in front of you. Bugs will be driving a Corvette, although we do not know if it will be a classic or the newest model. If you would rather go it alone you can meet us at the Tavern at 3 PM for drinks and lunch. The rally is free but drinks and lunch are on you. This promises to be a fun event. A special thanks to Hugh “Bugs” Forsyth for organizing it.
Fireside Chat, New Member Orientation
Everything you ever wanted to know about our Club and Rotary.  President Bruce hosted the event at his home. New members heard from a number of presenters including some of the new members themselves. Above all this was a social event and an opportunity to get together in the spirit of Rotary.
Announcements: Installation Dinner June 30
It is hard to believe that a year has gone by since President Bruce took office. A gala event is planned for our installation dinner where Steve Chapin will be sworn in as our new president. As is the club’s tradition, past presidents will join in with well wishes for the new team. It has been an outstanding year despite the pandemic. Seven new members were brought in and we added a fourth Scholarship recipient.
Last week's speaker
Charlie, as he is known by his friends, is an orthopedic surgeon and sports fan. Over the years he has treated many professional athletes in baseball, football and basketball. He related his experiences as a physician with the Chicago Bulls in the days of Scotty Pippen and Michael Jordan or MJ as he referred to him while living in Chicago.
Bruce Roberts, Member of the Week
Bruce has served our club well leading us back from the dark days of the Pandemic. Despite his hectic business schedule, he was always there ready to help.
